Dr. Rukia Swaleh

Endocrinologist

Dr. Rukia Swaleh completed her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University followed by her Doctor of Medicine degree and Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Toronto. She then moved to Edmonton where she completed Fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Alberta. She was Chief Resident for her Endocrinology program at the University of Alberta during her final year of training.

Her special interests include diabetes and obesity, and she published peer reviewed manuscripts on the topics during her clinical training under the supervision of respected experts in the field. She has a passion for medical education and regularly participates in academic activities for medical trainees. She also has a passion for addressing health disparities and improving the health status of marginalized communities.
